Current mood: infuriated

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

OK, I was looKing around on myspace, bored, and came across this girl's blog that was a copy of a bulliten. Apparently, in California, they are trying to pass a law to "put to sleep" (in other words, Kill) any form of pit bull because of the people forcing them to fight. Even the ones who are peaceful. They are a good dog, just with a bad rep. And if this law gets passed in California, it could start getting passed in other states. The slogan for the people protesting this law is called: "Punish the deed not the breed." A fitting slogan. If these dogs are given a second chance, they can prove that just because they are pit bulls doesn't mean they are violent by nature. People are causing them to be violent and now people are punishing them for the very thing that some people taught them. Tell me how this is fair or right? A ton of dogs that were being forced to fight have been given second chances. They were healed, and re-trained and are now leading normal-dog lives. Some pit bulls are started out from birth being trained to help special needs children. They are the same as any other breed of dog. Had people started fighting labs or retrievers the law would've been to kill them instead. But look at how wonderful a pet they can be! Would you have wanted them Killed? Here are some pictures from that blog that show that pit bulls are more than just crazed fighting machines:
